Azores Airlines began the direct route between the Azores and Algarve

The two extraordinary Portuguese regions of the Azores and Algarve are now closer, with the direct flights provided by Azores Airlines.

The first flight between Ponta Delgada and Faro, operated by Azores Airlines Airbus A321neo, landed around 12:40 PM at Gago Coutinho Airport (Faro), completing the first leg of this new connection, returning to Ponta Delgada in the same afternoon, landing at 3:15 PM at João Paulo II Airport (Ponta Delgada).
Upon disembarking at both airports, passengers were surprised with a memorable and warm welcome, during which souvenirs (related to the two destinations) were given in a joint initiative involving ANA|Vinci Airports, Algarve Tourism, and Azorean Tourism.

“The opening of a new air operation is always a moment of special enthusiasm for our airline. Connecting Ponta Delgada to Faro means connecting two fantastic Portuguese destinations and enhancing our network's connectivity, positioned in the middle of the Atlantic between Europe and North America. It is, simultaneously, the success of a joint effort with our partners,” highlights Graça Silva, Azores Airlines Sales, Marketing, and Communication Director.

Azores Airlines launched a direct connection flying between Ponta Delgada and Faro three times a week, on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, with departures from Ponta Delgada at 9:00 AM and arriving in Faro at 12:25 PM. In the opposite direction, flights depart from Faro at 1:25 PM and arrive in Ponta Delgada at 3:05 PM.

The schedules provide conditions for connections via Ponta Delgada to the United States of America, and booking can be made through the various Azores Airlines channels (website, call center, sales offices, and sales counters) and travel agencies.
